Happy New Year

Sheila Tarr I.F.S would like to wish all our clients a Happy New Year for 2012. We would also like to say diaries were ever so popular this year and we have now run out (all 400 of them!).  If you would like to put your name down for one next year please call the office on 01489 574355 to avoid disappointment.

Run The Bridges

On the 3rd June 2011, Jeremy Tarr of Sheila Tarr I.F.S took part in a fundraising event called 'Run the Bridges'. Each member of the team ran 60 miles over the course of 2 days, following the route taken by the military in Operation Market Garden. The course began at Joe's Bridge near Lommel in Belgium and concluded in Arnhem, Holland.  Over £4000 was raised, with all monies donated to the Royal British Legion.

Run The Beaches

On the morning of June 5th 2010, Jeremy Tarr and some friends ran a route along the Normandy Peninsula to a variety of locations in memory of all those who participated in the Normandy invasion on June the 6th 1944. The run, which covered 40 miles, was completed when they reached Pegasus Bridge cafe, which is believed to be the first building liberated on D Day and all monies raised were in support of The Royal British Legion. The group surpassed targets set and raised in the region of £2,500.

Breast Cancer Cycle Ride

After losing four friends to this terrible disease this year and knowing several others who are undergoing treatment for it, all at Sheila Tarr I.F.S. and lots of friends decided to complete a bike ride to raise money for the charity.

The event in July took place in the New Forest and fortunately the day stayed dry and not too hot. The more experienced and fit riders chose to complete a 20 mile route, whilst others struggled with the 10 mile shorter route, but all were pleased to have made the effort especially when they ended up in a pub for refreshments!

We managed to raise over £1,700 for the charity and as everyone enjoyed the day so much, it was decided to repeat it again next year with details to be announced nearer the time.

Bashley Football Club

Sheila Tarr I.F.S was proudly unveiled as the new main sponsors of Bashley Football Club who are currently plying their trade in the British Gas Business Premier League division. The company entered a raffle along with 12-15 other companies and was fortunate to be selected.

The club is situated in the New Forest and was founded in 1947 when they joined the Bournemouth League in 1950, progressing through the ranks before leaving in 1983 to join the Hampshire League. In 1986 they became founder members of the Wessex League and won the title for the first three years they took part, 1986/87, 1987/88 and 1988/89. In the 1987/88 season, Bashley came to national prominence after an incredible run in the FA Vase, which came to an end they reached the semi-finals, losing 2-0 to Emley in the second leg of the semi-final after a 0-0 draw at the Recreation Ground.

Should you want to go along and watch the team, please contact Sheila Tarr I.F.S on 01489 574355 or visit the clubs website (www.bashleyfc.co.uk) for details on how to get to the ground and current prices.
