With 1 in 3 people developing cancer sometime in life and with 1 in 4 males (1 in 5 females) developing a serious illness before retirement, there has never been a more prominent reminder for the need of Critical Illness cover.
Critical Illness cover (CIC) provides the policy holder with a tax-free lump sum payment on diagnosis of one of a range of specified illnesses. The illness need not be terminal and one significant purpose of CIC is to provide a lump sum payment to meet the costs that someone may face should they be diagnosed with a serious illness such as cancer, stroke or multiple sclerosis to name but a few.
We have found that a lot of our clients, who have taken out CIC, thought that plans would be not be affordable and would be out of their budget. Although price should not be the main motive for CIC (as quality of cover is of paramount importance), we have found that costs are generally lower than is expected. Please contact Sheila Tarr I.F.S if you would like a quote to suit your circumstances.
