Joined Scottish Amicable in 1983 and then moved to work for a financial services company in Fareham in 1985 to gain experience in the Independent Sector. She was taken on in 1988 as a Director to form a financial services company for local estate agents, Morris Dibben, owned by Lloyds TSB. In 1988 FIMBRA was formed and qualifications became compulsory, so she successfully passed the Financial Planning Certificate, followed by CeMap, Pensions Simplification and Equity Release later. This role stood her in good stead when she was made redundant in 1997 and decided to go self-employed and Sheila Tarr I.F.S. was formed. Since then the business has grown, mainly from personal recommendations, to a team of 10 advisers & support staff. The main objective of the business is to provide products from the whole market, a good service, and for everyone to enjoy the most from their savings, protection and retirement planning.
